PIMA Recognizes IdeaStar's Work for UnionSecure

March 16, 2003 - IdeaStar Inc., a nationally known developer of interactive insurance Web sites, received one of the top honors for the Best of PIMA Award at the recent Professional Insurance Marketing Association (PIMA) Annual Meeting in Naples, FL.

Mike Wise, IdeaStar vice president of Insurance Technologies, entered client site http://www.unionsecure.com/ in the Marketing Methods competition for insurance e-commerce at the PIMA MarkeTTech Symposium last fall. The entry earned a Gold Award and was forwarded with other finalists for the Best of PIMA competition.  The winner earned first place for a direct market mail campaign.

“I’m thrilled about this award.  It gives us and Union Secure recognition among our peers and hundreds of insurance companies,” Mike said.

The Web site provides ancillary health and life insurance benefits to over 8 million union members.  It includes online quoting, application submission, a downloadable library of product information and forms, customer service, and consumer education.  The site was designed for compatibility with search engines to support marketing objectives.

“The Web site has been a hit since it went live in March 2005.  So far it has processed over 6000 insurance applications.  Their return on investment is positive.  The site was launched in three months.  And, it is available for repurposing for similar enrollment situations,” Mr. Wise said.  UnionSecure insurance is underwritten by The Hartford.
